Because of recent events and a concern about possible, new legal restrictions regarding magazines for the AR-15 rifle, just about every retailer is currently "out of stock" of these important parts of the weapon. Even the lower capacity models have sold out. Currently, most manufacturers offer these in 5, 10, 20, and 30 round capacity models. Legal requirements vary from state to state (and in some cases even by locality or municipality), so it is important to be knowledgeable and aware of what is legal to possess for the location in which you reside. How you plan to use the magazine is also important to consider, as some states that allow hunting with the AR-15 stipulate that the magazine used can only hold 5 rounds.
At www.del-ton.com, we offer magazines in various capacities from a few different manufacturers. Magpul's "PMAG" is a magazine constructed of very durable polymer that is popular and dependable. It has seen successful use in recent military applications and its "no-tilt" follower is so reliable that other manufacturers have begun to use it in their own magazines. DTI offers these in 20 and 30 round models in black, olive drab green, and flat dark earth. There is a standard model and, for a few dollars more, one that has a round indicator window in the side to display remaining capacity.
Basic aluminum magazines have served AR-15 owners well for a long time and DTI offers 10, 20, and 30 round models from popular, quality manufacturers like C-Products and D & H. While not as rugged as the Magpul models, these magazines can be dependable with a typical amount of care. These also come with anti tilt followers. While 30 round magazines are the most popular style, lower capacity magazines are a sensible option for hunting or bench rest shooting where a 30 round magazine could be heavy and awkward. Should you ever have to shoot in a prone position, a 10 or 20 round magazine can be more practical.
For some plain old fun, there is also the Beta C-Mag, which holds 100 rounds in two "drums". These come in various styles and colors and some include a carrying case. While probably not all that practical, they sure can provide an enjoyable time at your shooting range.
DTI also offers magazine parts like followers and floor plates, as well as magazine accessories from Magpul.
In the current, high-demand environment that the gun industry is experiencing, DTI is committed to offering quality AR-15 rifles and products at a sensible pricepoint. While some other retailers and manufacturers have seized this opportunity to raise prices, Del-Ton desires to remain a source where value meets performance. We are doing all we can to quickly fill current orders for parts and rifles, and pressing our suppliers for increased inventory so we can get the parts you need to you as quickly as possible.
Thanks for reading our blog. If you have any questions about the magazines we offer or any of the AR-15 rifles or parts we sell at DTI, please feel free to contact us.
